Chinese Consulate General in Perth Holds Open Day and WA Inaugural Chinese Language Day Event

On September 12, 2026, Chinese Consulate General in Perth held Open Day and WA Inaugural Chinese Language Day Event, Consul General Fu Lihua attended and delivered a speech. Mr. Bruce Reynolds, Lord Mayor of the City of Perth, Ms. Zhang Jieqi, President of WA Chinese Language Culture Institute and teachers and students of around 150 people attended.

Consul General Fu stated that language acts as the carrier of civilization and the tool of communication, the Global Civilization Initiative resonates with the principles of Australia’s multiculturalism, emphasizing respect for differences, appreciation for diversity, equal-footed dialogue and mutual learning. She encouraged the students to keep learning Chinese and play the role as young envoys for China-Australia cultural exchanges and people-to-people links.

Mr. Reynolds and Ms. Zhang stated that language is the bridge of communication, encouraged students to learn Chinese and have a better understanding of China.

The event was lively, students performed spectacular Chinese traditional cultural programs. The guests fully immersed themselves in tasting Mid-Autumn moon-cake and experiencing traditional Chinese cultural activities such as calligraphy, Wushu, paper cutting, pitching pots, shadow puppetry and sugar painting.
